Ethics
The Ethics Committee reviews and responds to NC State Bar Proposed Ethical Opinions as well as other issues concerning the ethical practice of law in the international context which comes to the Section's attention.

Import/Export
The Import/Export Committee would like to sponsor CLE activities that increase among our colleagues and other interested persons awareness of new issues affecting import and export activities.
Areas of importance could include logistics (such as container inspections and other Department of Homeland Security matters), customs (e.g., classification changes and challenges) and issues with other trade partners (especially the European Union and China). Presenters might include Section members, governmental representatives, freight forwarders and customs brokers.

Legislative
This committee works with Doug Heron, NCBA’s Director of Governmental Affairs, to monitor and respond to legislation impacting our Section and our clients. This committee keeps the Council and Section members aware of pertinent developments.

Law School Liason
The function of the Law School Liaison Committee of the International Law and Practice Section Council of North Carolina Bar Association is to educate law students on the meaning of international law and practice in North Carolina through exposure to speakers representing a spectrum of practice areas engaging in the international practice of law. The Law Liaison Committee encourages qualified students toward a career path in international law by providing opportunities to network and providing programs advising students on how to best prepare themselves for international practice, through language skills, carefully chosen courses, pro-bono activities, and summer internships. The Law School Liaison Committee also coordinates the Law School Student Representative Program which provides non-voting participation on the Council by representatives from each of the North Carolina law schools.

Home Page
The Home Page Committee reviews and monitors the International Law and Practice Section’s Web Site. Committee members collect, evaluate, recommend, and implement best practices for maximizing the value and usefulness of the site to Section members, North Carolina attorneys, and the public at large.

Attorney Exchange
The Attorney Exchange Committee is responsible for the planning and coordination of the attorney exchange program. The plan for each exchange is to have North Carolina attorneys go to a destination in the even years and then the following odd year, receive a reciprocal delegation from that country.

The CLE Committee is responsible for planning CLE seminars alone or with other sections to promote growth, education, and professionalism in international law and other related areas.

Immigration Law
The Immigration Law Committee keeps member of the Section apprised of recent developments in the law. This Committee also seeks to further the professional development of Section members by identifying and presenting important topical issues.

International Family Law
The International Family Law Committee keeps member of the Section apprised of recent developments in the law. This includes changes and additions to the law, and other issues relating to the practice of International Family law.

Newsletter
The Newsletter Committee publishes the International Law and Practice Section’s newsletter. Committee members assist in soliciting, reviewing, and editing articles for each issue. Members also correspond with authors and work with N.C.B.A. staff members to format and finalize each issue.

The Nominations Committee provides a proposed slate of Council member and Officer Nominees to be voted on at the annual meeting.
